Automatic Lane Following System (ALF)

The project is about an automatic steering system for vehicles. It steers the vehicle along a reflective road side stripe. Allan Krogh Jensen constructed the system in 1995 when he was 15 years old.
It participated in the danish contest for young scientists and inventors "JP Forsker 95" where it won the 1st prize. The written material is found below (all in danish):

Automatic Lane Following System (ALF) - Short report
Enclosure T1 - Schematic for the ALF system
Enclosure T2 - Schematic of the Lego relay-module
Enclosure T3 - Illustration of the ALF system mode of operation
Enclosure F1 - Photo of the demonstrationsmodel in Lego
Enclosure F2 - Photo of ALF and the relay-module
Enclosure F3 - Photo of the Lego-vehicle with sensors following a reflective stripe
Enclosure F4 - Photo of ALF connected to the Lego demonstrationsmodel

A list of the participators and their projects at JP Forsker 95 is found here

After the success in the contest, the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) were contacted in hope to get help to get the system in production.
They estimated that it did not have enough newsvalue to get patented.

The project were also mentioned in the press. Some of the articles are found here.
